2014 is the 120 year anniversary of Gibson and what better than a new range of Les Pauls to help get the party started. Lets take a closer look at the Gibson 2014 LPM Min-ETune.

As with most of the 2014 Les Paul range, Gibson have opted for a chambered (modern weight relief) mahogany back with a carved maple top. This combination should prove a firm favourite with traditionalists and modern players alike, and offers the huge Les Paul sound and styling without the unnecessary body-weight of previous models. The Gibson 2014 LPM Min-ETune has a glued-in rounded '50s profile maple neck and a rosewood fingerboard. When it comes to playability this guitar is certainly not found wanting and feels both solid and comfortable in the hand.

The Gibson 2014 LPM Min-ETune carries a pair of Gibson's new '61 Zebra humbucking pickups in the neck and bridge positions. These pickups are built for all occasions and provide anything from heavy rock and screaming lead tones to mellower warm clean tones making the Gibson 2014 LPM Min-ETune an extremely versatile guitar. They are wired through the traditional complement of independent volume and tone controls, and a three-way selector switch.

The Gibson 2014 LPM Min-ETune incorporates the Min-ETune tuning system (the clue was in the name), which automatically retunes your guitar in seconds, you can even call up any one of 12 factory or 6 user preset tunings at a simple strum of the strings. Amazing! As for the rest of the hardware, you get a satin chrome Tune-a-matic bridge and tailpiece, black Tektoid nut and vintage style tuners, al in all a very efficient set up. A few more features that are worth a mention include the trapezoid inlays and the 120th anniversary banner at the 12th fret, black max grip speed control knobs, oversized strap buttons and last but not least you get a padded Gibson logo gig bag too.
